Many important questions around labour, birth and the newborn’s first hour are too large to answer reliably through repeated small trials. Even when smaller trials are later combined in systematic reviews, the answers may remain uncertain, delayed or vulnerable to concerns about trial quality.

WOMBAT is being designed as a permanent, sustainable learning platform: a way to embed large, streamlined, high-quality trials into routine care so that women, babies, families and clinicians can get reliable answers faster.
